The first demo day by SaaS Accelerator Amplifi has recently concluded on 2nd July 2016 at Amazon Web Services Office, Bengaluru. The event was attended by Startup investors & gurus which include Abhinav Chaturvedi of Accel Partners, Raghav Nagarajan of Matrix Partners, Amplifi Directors Rohinton Bharucha and Amitava Neogi, Mr Srinath Batni of Axilor, Mr.Amit Gupta of Jupiter Capital, A Krishnamurthy (Kichu) from 72 degrees, Nao Murakami from Incubate Fund (Japan) and many more from startup community.
Tellofy, Real-time trusted review platform for brands has pitched their startup first! which is a multi-mode (audio, video and text), independent, sector agnostic, discovery, ratings and review platform on web, mobile and onsite driven by analytics with actionable insights. Saurabh Majumdar – founder & CEO, his 3rd venture and successful entrepreneur along with Tarun Nallu – Executive Director and one of the two more matured startups in the portfolio in terms of their stage, pitch with alacrity, passion and precision.
Second pitch was Palasjyoti Dutta (CEO – InsightNxt) gave investors a detailed insight into “Insightnxt” and its value proposition and impressed them with the potential of the product. InsightNxt is the analytics driven customer engagement platform for offline retailers. They want offline retailers to intelligently connect with consumers and seamlessly engage them using predictive analytics.
The third startup to pitch was Trilyo, which is an In-store Experience and Off-store Engagement Platform for restaurants. They are on a mission to “Deliver Happy & Loyal Customer”. It’s a unique customer engagement platform that helps restaurants increase loyalty and guest experience with complete workflow automation. Gaurav Gambhir (co-founder and CTO) & Abhishek Moharana (co-founder and CEO), IIT Bombay Alumnus, with several years of experience in tech and consulting respectively; shared with investors their vision and aspiration to blow away the world of restaurant-tech.
Mr. Sanjay Anandaram talked about the opportunities for Indian B2B SaaS startups, congratulated the startups for graduating from Amplifi Cohort #1 & commended them on their well thought of presentations and also Amplifi for its curation. He also said that an initiative like Amplifi was much needed and that he hoped Amplifi would “amplify” many Indian B2B SaaS startups and enable them to be globally successful.”
Pitching started by Pyplyn, An innovative analytics driven SaaS platform to help HR leaders foresee attrition. Their gamified application and predictive tool helps recruiters anticipate employee attrition in the organization in order to plan and execute timeline interventions. The enthusiastic founders Ranaq Sen & Soham Basak (CEO & CTO – Pyplyn) pitch their idea to investors and their dream to change the way HR intervenes and manages attrition.
Next, the young and dynamic team of TravDots from Bhubaneshwar pitched their startup which is SaaS enabled Marketplace (SEM) for the travel market.TravDots Specializes in providing the best possible experience for the travel agents, travel operators and other travel service provider by providing all the necessary tools with advanced technology and expertise knowledge. Sounak Sarkar (CEO – Travdots) – the impressive, knowledgeable and driven founder and his co-founders Pritam Mishra (Product & Tech) and Sumit Sahoo (Ops) pitched their heart out to the investors – they want to disrupt the travel industry and make tour planning and booking easier for you and me, by helping tour planners and agents more empowered to perform with higher efficiency and accuracy.
Swathi Komandur (CEO – Varsito) along with her teammates pitched their startup Varsity which is the first of its kind lead management solution for training institutes. They are looking to become a complete SaaS end-to-end platform for skill development training institutes all over India – from Lead management, to Placements. Their noble vision is to bridge the demand supply gap in India for skilled workforce and contribute to the growth of the Indian economy.
Earlier on start of the day, Mr. Sudarshan Narayan (founder & MD of Amplifi) took the stage to welcome everyone to our first Demo Day. Sudarshan talked a bit about what it took to get here, how we picked the six startups out of several that applied and expectations from the investors that had given us the privilege of participating in the pitch. Sudarshan expressed his gratitude to everyone assembled with a special thanks to Mr. Srinath Batni of Axilor and Mr. Sanjay Anandaram, one of India’s most well know angels and startup advisors.
